Leaving for PA very soon — a matter of hours. I haven’t heard from Amandeep since she texted me that her plane was taking off from D.C., and I’m a combination of worried and missing her. The day she left, I heard about an Air France plane crash in the Indian Ocean, which couldn’t have been hers because she wouldn’t have flown that far south on the way from france to punjab.
Also, it seems like I’m using wordpress as a sort of triple-length twitter. Maybe I’ll become more regular with this and begin to post more interesting and developed things. For now, it’s prep-sleep time.

Stayed up too late… again

I’m writing a song based on or inspired by the only musical remnant of my father, which was a little song he made up on a keyboard. I like the way this song sounds, but I need to play something on my keyboard or guitar and record it into the song. Or add some vocals. I used to know how to alter vocals a bit. Anyway, it’s 3am and I have to wake up for work at 9. gah, I feel stupid.

At least I got some laundry done.

A strange first post seems somehow fitting

Sometimes I encounter things that I find either amusing or awesome that it seems most people would think is either dull, uninteresting or inappropriate.

I went to the mall to pick up lunch today and stopped by the bathroom first. The urinals had blue rubber mats with holes in them preventing large objects from clogging the pipes. Liquid would spread out over the mat before draining much through the holes, and consequently the holes would slowly be covered, the surface tension of the urine holding itself up until slowly weight would force it to form a drop and fall off. Viewing this from above, I could see a bright flash as the changing form of the droplets passed through a shape that reflected most of the light from their bottom surface back up to me, which means I saw a random lattice of blinking yellow dots.
